Toilet Installation Services

Toilets aren't a purchase most people get excited about — but a new toilet is one of the fastest upgrades that pays off every day. Modern models flush better, use less water, and don't have the recurring problems that come with an aging unit. Whether you're replacing an old toilet that's past saving, upgrading to a high-efficiency model, or putting toilets in for new construction, we handle the install cleanly and correctly.

At Yeehaw Plumbing, we install toilets across Summerville, Charleston, and the surrounding Lowcountry. Standard replacements, elongated bowl upgrades, comfort-height toilets, low-flow water-savers, and new construction — if it's a toilet, we install it.

Call (843) 509-6943 to schedule.

‍

Types of Toilet Installations

‍

We install every type of household toilet:

‍

  • Standard tank-and-bowl replacements
  • Comfort-height (chair-height) toilet upgrades
  • Water-saving (WaterSense and dual-flush) models
  • Elongated bowl replacements
  • One-piece toilet installations
  • New construction toilet installs
  • Second-bathroom additions
  • Powder room toilets

If you have a specific model in mind or want a recommendation, we can help you sort through options before you buy.

‍

When to Consider a New Toilet

‍

Common reasons people call us for a new toilet install:

‍

  • Current toilet is 25+ years old
  • Repairs are stacking up faster than they should
  • Cracked tank or bowl (that's not fixable)
  • Constant clogging that repair doesn't solve
  • A wobble that keeps coming back even after resetting
  • Kitchen or bathroom remodel
  • Upgrading to a water-saving model to lower your water bill
  • Adding a new bathroom or powder room

If any of these sound familiar, we can talk through options and pricing.

‍

Our Toilet Installation Process

‍

For a standard install, our process:

‍

  • Discuss what you want installed (or help you pick if you haven't yet)
  • Turn off the water supply and empty the current toilet
  • Remove the old toilet cleanly
  • Clean the flange and mounting area
  • Install a fresh wax ring
  • Set the new toilet with new bolts and secure it evenly
  • Connect the supply line (new line if needed)
  • Test through a full flush cycle
  • Check for leaks at the base and supply connections
  • Show you any features of the new toilet
  • Haul away the old toilet unless you want to keep it

Most toilet installations take about an hour. If we find flange damage or floor issues under the old toilet, it takes longer — we'll flag it and get your OK before doing extra work.

‍

Toilet Installation vs. Toilet Repair — What's the Difference?

‍

Toilet repair fixes what you already have. Running toilet, weak flush, wobbly base, or a leaky supply line — most of those are repairable without replacing the whole toilet. If your current toilet is under 25 years old and problems aren't stacking up, repair is often the better call.

Toilet installation replaces the whole unit. If your toilet is old, cracked, constantly having problems, or you're just ready for an upgrade, replacement makes more sense than another repair. See our toilet repair page for the repair side.

Not sure which you need? We'll take a look and give you a straight answer.

‍

What to Do Before We Arrive

‍

To keep things moving:

  • If you've already bought the toilet, have it and the wax ring ready
  • Clear the bathroom of anything portable
  • Note if the toilet has been rocking, any floor issues around it, or a smell — those help us diagnose
  • If you're not sure what type of toilet fits your space, wait to buy until we take a look

A quick call to (843) 509-6943 and we can help you figure out what you need.

Frequently Asked Questions

‍

Q: How much does toilet installation cost in Summerville, SC?

‍

‍A: A standard toilet install is quick and affordable. Cost depends on the toilet model, whether we need to replace the shut-off valve or supply line, and whether there are floor or flange issues underneath. We give upfront pricing before starting.

‍

Q: How long does toilet installation take?

‍

‍A: A standard install is about an hour. If we run into floor damage, a corroded flange, or need to replace shut-off valves, it takes longer.

‍

Q: Can I install a toilet myself?

‍

‍A: Some folks do it themselves, but the wax ring seal is easy to mess up. A bad seal shows up as a leak — often invisible until floor rot happens under the toilet. If you're not experienced with this, having it installed correctly is worth the peace of mind.

‍

Q: Do I need to buy a new wax ring?

‍

‍A: Yes. Every install needs a new wax ring — never reuse the old one. We bring them with us, so you don't need to grab one from the hardware store.

‍

Q: My current toilet's flange is broken. Can you still install a new toilet?

‍

‍A: Yes. Broken or damaged flanges are common in older Charleston homes. Depending on how bad it is, we can either repair it with a flange extender or repair kit, or replace the flange entirely. We'll show you what's involved before starting.

‍

Q: What size toilet do I need?

‍

‍A: Toilet size is mostly about "rough-in" — the distance from the wall to the center of the drain. Standard rough-in is 12 inches, but older homes sometimes have 10-inch or 14-inch rough-ins. If you're buying online, measure first. We're happy to check for you before you buy.

‍

Q: What's a comfort-height toilet?

‍

‍A: Comfort-height (also called chair-height) toilets sit a bit taller than standard toilets — closer to the height of a normal chair. They're easier to use for anyone with mobility issues, tall folks, or aging in place. Very popular upgrade.

‍

Q: Are water-saving toilets worth it?

‍

‍A: Yes. Modern water-saving toilets use about 1.28 gallons per flush versus 3.5+ gallons for older models. Over time, that's real money on your water bill. And modern water-savers actually flush well — they're not the weak-flushing units from the early days of low-flow toilets.

‍

Q: Do you haul away my old toilet?

‍

‍A: Yes, unless you want to keep it. We're happy to leave it for you if you want to donate it or hold onto it as a backup.

‍

Q: What if the floor is rotted under my old toilet?

‍

‍A: This happens sometimes, especially if the toilet has been leaking for a while. We'll show you what we find. Small flooring repairs we may be able to handle, larger repairs usually need a flooring contractor. Either way, we'll walk you through what needs to happen next.
